Pendedahan tabiat menjengkelkan semasa melancong

Mobile device addiction

Fakta-fakta ‘Tabiat Pengembaraan Menyakitkan Hati’ Malaysia:

Six great reasons why traveling with friends is better

Friends know our best (and worst) angles (2)

To mark World Friendship Day on 30 July, Agoda, one of the fastest-growing online travel agents (OTA), shares six reasons why you should round up your group of friends and book your next holiday adventure together:

Your friends know your best (and worst) angles

If you’re on the hunt for your next great Instagram photo, who’ll be better at capturing your best poses than your friends? The London Edition provides a great photoshoot backdrop, with its blend of modern design and classic European architecture. Located on the edge of the artsy London neighborhood Soho, this glitzy hotel is within walking distance of trendy galleries and restaurants where you’ll find plenty of inspiration for your holiday shots.

Other Instagram-worthy properties include Bali’s Bambu Indah Hotel, a green oasis with breathtaking views of Bali’s rice fields and Ayung River, and Malacca’s The Rucksack Caratel, a hip boutique hotel that serves as a hidden green sanctuary in the middle of the city.

The London Edition

Friends help explore your taste for adventure.

From the weird to the wonderful, trying new foods with friends is all part of the adventure of travel. Those who dare to test their taste buds should know that April through August is the prime durian season in Malaysia, where many say the best durians can be found. One of the most controversial foods in the world, its taste will either spark joy or disgust – want to find out which side you’ll be on? The Agoda Home Vortex KLCC is located right in the city center of Kuala Lumpur and close to all the shops, restaurants, and food stalls selling durian, of course!

Adventurous eaters should also head to Osaka to try out Dotonbori Street’s diverse food options including fugu, delicious pufferfish that are notorious for the lethal poison they carry in their organs. Don’t worry, Japanese chefs must undergo years of training before they can serve this delicacy! A stone’s throw away is Dormy Inn, a minimalist boutique hotel with its own on-site onsen.

The Filipino delicacy balut, fertilized duck eggs, are certainly not for the faint of heart! The best in the country are in Pateros, a neighborhood in Metro Manila. Within commuting distance is Seda Bonifacio Global City, which is close to popular shopping spots Bonifacio High Street and Serendra, Market.

Friends are the perfect wing (wo)men for a memorable night out

Whether it’s getting you out of trouble or stepping up as the perfect dance partner, friends are key to a fun night out. For the ultimate party holiday, look no further than Las Vegas where you can find some of the best casinos, nightclubs and pool parties in the world. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is located right on the Vegas strip and in the center of all of Las Vegas’ main attractions.

Ho Chi Minh city is Vietnam’s nightlife capital and offers hundreds of bars and nightclubs to choose from, so you’ll find something to suite your tastes, whether it’s an upscale nightclub or hole-in-the-wall dive bar. Take it easy the morning after at Chill Box, a cosy homestay in the center of town.

Spend one night (or two!) checking out Bangkok’s swanky nightclubs, rooftop bars and trendy speakeasies. Agoda Home Cape House Serviced Apartment offers relaxation for when you need some extra TLC after a big night out.

Friends help you stay motivated when you’re getting sporty

As another hand on deck or a competitive opponent on the track, friends help you bring out your A-game. Head to Philippines’ surfing capitol Siargao, home of the world-famous Cloud 9 wave, and see who can ‘hang ten’ for longer. Stylish Soultribe Beach Retreat offers bungalows right on the beach so you can roll straight from bed and onto the waves.

Chiang Mai’s May Taeng River is the go-to in Thailand for rapids and white-water rafting. Dry off at 9.5 Hotel, which is in commuting distance of all the river action.

Luang Prabang’s meandering mountain trails are best experienced from a mountain bike, or if you’re opting for an easier ride you can cycle along the Mekong River. My Dream Boutique Resort is a scenic spot off the Mekong River where you can take a breather.

Wait, you save money traveling with friends?

That’s right, from sharing room expenses to splitting costs for taxi rides, traveling with friends means being able to stick to your budget without foregoing all luxuries. What’s more, when you’re in a big group, there’s no reason not to splurge on an entire private property. Agoda Home Aquila Nova Retreat is just on the outskirts Melbourne and is a quiet retreat in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges National Park.

Check out other great Agoda Homes for friend groups like the Private Pool Villa by CHATTHA in Phuket or the spacious Teega Residence in Johor Bahru.

Friends can embolden you to reach new heights

They say true friends would do anything for you, even jump out of a plane – so if that’s your thing, head to Dubai where sky diving is on offer year-round. Luxury hotel Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay in Dubai’s city-center offers tranquil surroundings that will help calm any pre-jump nerves.

For those with a sense of adventure but not quite the head for heights, you don’t need to miss out on the fun. You can try out the Singapore iFly instead, where you can experience the thrill of a real free-fall without the distance! Just around the corner is Le Meridien, a modern five-star hotel close to all of Singapore’s main attractions.

If you want to keep your feet closer to the ground, but still get out of your comfort zone, why not take a leap of faith and give Ba Ho’s cliff jumping a go? Just 45-minutes north of Nha Trang you’ll find several off-the-beaten-path waterfall ponds with varying heights. Those brave enough ought to go for the 12-meter drop! If you’re setting up base in Nha Trang, you can wake up to pristine ocean views at Nha Trang Beach Apartments.

HUAWEI nova 3 and 3i go on sales in Malaysia!

HUAWEI launched the HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i, the third-generation of HUAWEI nova range. In pursuit of the best AI selfie camera, HUAWEI has equipped the HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i with 24MP cameras; creating a quad-camera powerhouse that revolutionizes the world of AI photography, while featuring a fashionable design that mimics its predecessor, the nova 2 series.

After its strong growth in Malaysia, the HUAWEI new nova series now melds elegance and innovative AI together to usher in a new era of smart living. As a product series that is squarely aimed at addressing user pain points in selfie photography and entertainment, the latest HUAWEI nova devices features a wealth of improvements that are made possible by AI. As well as radiating elegance, the HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i offer all-new user experiences that ease users into embracing the AI-enhanced life.

Meticulous Design and Trendy Color Options

The look and feel of HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i are the distillation of the designers’ relentless pursuit of perfection. Smooth to the touch on all facets, HUAWEI nova 3 features double curved 3D glass on both the front and back of the device, and underneath the front glass is the 6.3-inch (2340×1080) FullView Display, which is similar to HUAWEI nova 3i. These specs enable the display to push out bigger and sharper images than its predecessor while looking more slender and elongated.

The new notched Full HD+ panel has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, giving the device a more streamline look compared with its 18:9 counterparts. In addition, the precise engineering techniques employed by HUAWEI ensure that the four corners of the screen are curved identically, so that the screen connects with the mid-frame seamlessly and in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

As the devices strive to be at the forefront of trends, HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i are both available in a special gradient color, Iris Purple, in which the purple slowly transitions to a shade of blue, as if it is a living, breathing piece of art. HUAWEI nova 3 is also available in black and red; while HUAWEI nova 3i is available in black and pearl white. Whether it is in fashion or automobiles, the color white has proven to be timeless. With the return of the white color scheme, consumers can own a device decorated with the most classic color.

Capture Beauty Anytime with Four AI Cameras

As the third-generation nova series, HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i allow its users to explore new possibilities through the lenses of its four AI cameras.

The AI selfie feature not only captures a subject’s face with clarity, but it also comes with the most intuitive photography experience. HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i are equipped with dual front-facing cameras with a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP sensor. The former is designed to capture details with its f/2.0 wide aperture lens, whereas the 2MP secondary sensor captures depth data with dedicated depth detection hardware. Working in synergy, the dual cameras produces stunning, authentic bokeh effects.

In addition, when a user is taking a selfie, the HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i can recognize over 200 scenarios across eight categories, including Blue Sky, Plant and Beach, and apply a unique set of optimizations for each scene, while beautifying the subject. The beautification algorithms also take into consideration how people around the world perceive beauty, and apply a different set of adjustments to people of different gender and skin color.

Furthermore, the hardware on HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i enable it to support real-time HDR footage preview and recording. The third-generation nova devices also support five studio-quality lighting, namely soft lighting, butterfly lighting, stage lighting, split lighting and classic lighting. The HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i can accurately map the five facial features of its subject and develop a 3D model, to then identify areas that require additional lighting or beautification.

The rear camera on the HUAWEI nova 3 comprises of a 24MP monochrome and 16MP RGB sensor with dual f/1.8 wide aperture, while HUAWEI nova 3i features a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. Combined, they allow the device to not just capture crisp images, but also provide greater control over the photos. The former captures vivid images and videos, while the latter records depth data to create a professional bokeh effect, resulting in more natural-looking images.

Moreover, the industry-leading AI powering HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i serve as the “photography mastermind” capable of effectively distinguishing more than 500 scenarios, categorizing them into 22 types, and optimizing the image for each scene. When taking a photo, the handset also assists the user with intelligent composition, helping amateurs take gorgeous photos with ease.

In a world where people are becoming increasingly comfortable with communicating using short videos, the 480fps super slow-motion video shooting feature on HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i allow users to capture and easily share fleeting moments, be it a parkour run or a skateboard stunt. With AI machine learning, both devices support 3D Qmoji, which is a fun feature that digitally transposes the face of a user onto a digital avatar.

Live a Life Empowered by AI

Besides a fashionable design and incredible AI selfie features, HUAWEI nova 3 is equipped with an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor, allowing its face unlock feature to work with any lighting conditions. To realize true 24/7 fast unlocking, an infra-red sensor is placed beside the 24MP camera to help read the face of users in dark environments.

For the gaming-loving troop, the HUAWEI nova 3 features the Kirin 970 with 6GB RAM, while the HUAWEI nova 3i carries the Kirin 710 with 4GB RAM. Both devices can support up to 128GB internal storage, allowing users to store any data with peace of mind. Combined with the HUAWEI’s proprietary GPU Turbo, it enables a high-quality gaming experience by improving 60% of graphicsprocessing efficiency while lowering the Soc power consumption by 30%.

What makes it even more exciting is the premium collaboration with Rules of Survival where nova users will receive a Nova gift bag worth $50 USD when they log in to Rules of Survival with HUAWEI nova 3 or 3i. This promotion will commence at the end of July and is limited to one nova gift bag for one device only. Exclusive for APAC server only.

If a user encounters a network problem in a game, HUAWEI nova 3 and nova 3i can optimize the connection by switching to a network with the lowest latency. In addition, both SIM slots support 4G and VoLTE, allowing users to play games and make calls simultaneously.

The latest EMUI 8.2 features enhancements that can greatly improve the quality of life of its users. The built-in AI can identify objects from the camera and query the web for information, as well as a link to purchase it online[1].

All visitors have to do is prove themselves eligible for the lucky draw by presenting their IC number – as long as they have 3 digits of 5 or 6 in the first 6 digits of their IC number, they can participate! Who will be the lucky winner?

There’s also a little surprise at the roadshow! Macao’s official tourism mascot, ‘Mak Mak’, will be there to greet you! It is a black-faced spoonbill whose meaningful design is inspired by the Guia Lighthouse. Its hues of red, yellow, and blue intricately bring out Macao’s European influence. As a pathfinder, ‘Mak Mak’ guides travellers to explore Macao – a city prized for its unique blend of Chinese and European cultures – while searching for its own meaning and bringing back all valuable experiences to its most beloved home – Macao. To make the beloved ‘Mak Mak’ more memorable, a special “‘Mak Mak’ Selfie” contest will also be held! All you have to do is snap a selfie with ‘Mak Mak’ and then upload the photo to your Facebook or Instagram account and you will stand to win a 3D2N trip to Macao!
